I Search

I sit here in the dark and dream of you,
But who are you?
I don't know.
I wish I did.
I wish I knew where to find you.
I only know that you exist in my dreams.
Only the brave dream while awake.
And it is while awake that I dream of you.
You are a creation in my mind.
You are a tiny piece of me I have been searching for.
Do I need you do complete me?
I don't know.
Do I want you?
Yes.
I only wish I knew who you were,
that I am so desperately searching for.
Maybe you are simply me.
I am in search of myself.
But who am I?
And how will I know when I have found myself?
