My Knight

sleep cannot come to soon
as I sit here typing
wondering why
I should sign off
before I die
I will live my life
in this position
typing away
little inclination
of the world outside
past my window sill
what do I do
I love you still
I know you did this to me now
I cannot leave'
I don't see how
I spend my life
alone right here
dreaming of
how I held you near
you were the one
to share my dreams
now your gone
as are my seams
I've fallen apart
like an old rag sweater
coming unglued
like that birds old feathers
you shed me from
your life like garbage
throwing me away
and here I am
look at me today
I sit here alone just typing away
not a care in the world
not a light in my day
I work very hard at making a front
no one knows
just how much I hunt
to find the man as true as you
my heart until then
will always feel blue
so until you appear
my golden knight
here I will sit
by the lamps fading light.
